Michael McGovern is a singer / songwriter from Glasgow, recently
selected to represent Scotland in the Global Music Match.

Michael’s signature sound is nylon guitars and wide vocal harmonies tipping its hat to some of his major influences, like Bob Dylan, Paul Simon and Leonard Cohen.

His debut album, Highfield Suite was released in June 2021.
The album received critical acclaim in both the UK and in Ireland, including BBC Radio Scotland album of the week, RTE Lyric album of the week, 8/10 in Hot Press Magazine and 5/5 Irish Music Magazine.

 

The album was also endorsed by BBC Introducing Scotland and Wales, and by folk music legend Paul Brady, “I love it, what an unexpected gem.”
